Leigh Marsh in Studio

About

Leigh Marsh is a screen composer who brings a deep understanding of a wide range of musical styles to each project. A guitarist, percussionist and bassist, he has been part of collaborations in retro-rock, Romani-swing, funk, afro-beat, avant-garde, shoegaze and cabaret. He thrives on delivering unique scores that use a mix of acoustic and synthetic instruments.

Marsh scored independent short 37 Things; winner of four 2020 South Australian Screen Awards including Best Music Composition.

Recently he has provided additional composition for This is Port Adelaide, a documentary  celebrating 150 years of the Port Adelaide Football Club, and Aftertaste, a series produced by Closer Productions for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

He contributed original music for the feature 玩命旅行指南 (Life Travel Guide) for Monumental Films, Roadman Films and Story Bridge Film, and for Askja Films and Bluebird Productions on their award winning short Cut.

In 2017, with assistance from Arts South Australia, Marsh completed a one-on-one  mentorship with screen composer and FCCA/Screen Music Award winner Bryony Marks (Please Like Me, Berlin Syndrome, Barracuda).
